About this template

The third email in a welcome series for makers and small shops. By day three a new subscriber knows what you sell. What they do not know yet is why you bother, and this note tells them.

There is no hero and no headline. It starts with a small photo of hands at work, set to the left like a picture clipped to a letter, then two paragraphs in the founder’s own voice about how the shop began and what they refuse to rush. The founder signs by name. One quiet outline button comes after the signature, so the story ends before the selling starts.

Write it yourself and keep it true. One real story about a first mistake beats any list of brand values.

Use it in your email tool

  1. Click Copy HTML, or download the .html file.
  2. In Mailchimp, Brevo, HubSpot or Klaviyo, start a new email with the custom HTML or code editor and paste it in.
  3. Change the text, links and images. Map merge tags such as {{first_name}} and {{unsubscribe_url}} to the tags of your tool.
  4. Send a test to yourself on desktop and phone before you send it to your list.
