About order confirmation emails

An order confirmation is the email every buyer waits for. It proves the order went through, shows what they bought and what they paid, and tells them what happens next. People open it, keep it, and often come back to it later.

Clarity matters most here. Our order confirmation templates put the good news at the top in one short line. Then comes the order summary: each item with a small image, the quantity and the price, followed by subtotal, shipping, tax and the total in bold. Below that, the shipping address and the payment method, so the buyer can spot a mistake early. One button leads to order tracking.

These are transactional emails, so keep sales content light. A small note about returns or help is useful. A big promo is not.

Replace the sample items with the merge tags of your shop system. Every template uses tables, inline CSS and a phone layout.

Questions

What must an order confirmation include?

The order number, the items with quantity and price, the total, the shipping address, and how to get help. A tracking link is a good extra.

Can I add product suggestions?

A small block at the end is fine. Keep the order details first. People open this email to check their order, not to shop.

How do I fill in the real order data?

Replace the sample text with the merge tags or variables of your shop or email tool, such as Shopify Liquid or WooCommerce placeholders.
