About this template

A weekly newsletter for colleges, universities, student unions and campus papers. It opens like the front page of a student weekly: one strong photo of the campus at dusk, with the lead story written over it in live text.

Under the opening photo, three shorter stories sit side by side, each with a tall photo, a headline, two lines and a link to read more. This week they cover late library hours, study tables on the lawn and a reopened lecture hall. A thin line then separates the news from the event card, which lists the date, time, place and address of the next student event, with a button to save a seat.

Deep navy text, a soft serif for headings and one crimson accent give it a classic collegiate feel without crests or mascots.

Change the lead story and the three photos each week, keep the layout, and readers will know where to look.

Use it in your email tool

  1. Click Copy HTML, or download the .html file.
  2. In Mailchimp, Brevo, HubSpot or Klaviyo, start a new email with the custom HTML or code editor and paste it in.
  3. Change the text, links and images. Map merge tags such as {{first_name}} and {{unsubscribe_url}} to the tags of your tool.
  4. Send a test to yourself on desktop and phone before you send it to your list.
