About this template

Community managers can use this digest to bring members back once a week. The sample brand is Forumly, a forum for makers. A short intro sets the theme, then three of the most active threads appear as picture and text rows, each with a short teaser and a link.

After the threads, a row of three numbers shows how busy the week was: new posts, new members and answered questions. Numbers like these make lurkers feel they are missing something. One button leads back to the forum, and the footer has a link to change digest settings.

Pick threads by replies, not by views, so the digest shows real discussion. Send it on the same day each week. Name the top thread in the subject line, because a specific topic gets more opens than the word digest.

Use it in your email tool

  1. Click Copy HTML, or download the .html file.
  2. In Mailchimp, Brevo, HubSpot or Klaviyo, start a new email with the custom HTML or code editor and paste it in.
  3. Change the text, links and images. Map merge tags such as {{first_name}} and {{unsubscribe_url}} to the tags of your tool.
  4. Send a test to yourself on desktop and phone before you send it to your list.
