About this template

A monthly newsletter for hiking clubs, outdoor shops, guide services and trail bloggers. The first thing readers see is a wide photo of a lake valley with a lone hiker, and the headline, one line of copy and a white button sit on the sky in live text.

Below it, a short heading introduces the issue and three tall photos lead into three trails: a foggy forest loop, a shady path over tree roots and a climb to a wooden hut in a meadow. Each one has a two line note and a link to the map. A dark forest green panel shares one practical tip with a sunrise photo, and the issue closes with a signature from the editor, social links and the footer.

Montserrat headings over Inter, moss green and warm stone tones keep it calm and outdoorsy. Forest greens, warm paper tones and plenty of white space make it feel like a field notebook.

Swap the three trails each month and keep the tip panel for gear, safety or season notes.

Use it in your email tool

  1. Click Copy HTML, or download the .html file.
  2. In Mailchimp, Brevo, HubSpot or Klaviyo, start a new email with the custom HTML or code editor and paste it in.
  3. Change the text, links and images. Map merge tags such as {{first_name}} and {{unsubscribe_url}} to the tags of your tool.
  4. Send a test to yourself on desktop and phone before you send it to your list.
