About this template

The shortest possible password reset email for a web or mobile app. Every line has a job, and there is one action only.

A small dark wordmark sits top left on a white panel over a pale grey page. A bold question headline, Reset your password?, makes the purpose clear, and one sentence tells people they can ignore the email if they did not ask for it.

A rounded blue button changes the password. A thin line separates the action from a small support note that invites a reply.

Use it as is for any product. Link the button to a short lived reset page and say how long the link works if you want to add one more line.

Use it in your email tool

  1. Click Copy HTML, or download the .html file.
  2. In Mailchimp, Brevo, HubSpot or Klaviyo, start a new email with the custom HTML or code editor and paste it in.
  3. Change the text, links and images. Map merge tags such as {{first_name}} and {{unsubscribe_url}} to the tags of your tool.
  4. Send a test to yourself on desktop and phone before you send it to your list.
