About this template

A password reset email for a software product that wants even its system emails to feel designed. The top is a deep teal band with a thin lowercase wordmark and the words Password reset in light caps.

Below the band everything is centered: a short greeting with the first name, one sentence on why the email arrived, and a rounded outline button in the same teal. A second paragraph says which device asked for the reset and what to do if it was not the reader, with a link to support.

The team signs off by name of the product, and a soft grey footer holds the address and a line on why the email was sent.

The design follows a well known open source template that used a color gradient behind the logo. Here the band is one solid color so it stays crisp, and every word is live text. Change the band color to your brand color and keep the rest.

Use it in your email tool

  1. Click Copy HTML, or download the .html file.
  2. In Mailchimp, Brevo, HubSpot or Klaviyo, start a new email with the custom HTML or code editor and paste it in.
  3. Change the text, links and images. Map merge tags such as {{first_name}} and {{unsubscribe_url}} to the tags of your tool.
  4. Send a test to yourself on desktop and phone before you send it to your list.
