About this template

Nonprofits need a receipt that donors can file for tax time and still feel good about. This one is calm and light blue, with the numbers laid out like an order.

A small water drop icon and the charity name sit at the top. The thank you line names the gift amount. The gift summary lists the donation, the fund it goes to and the date, with the total in bold. A muted tax note gives the charity number. Two columns show donor and payment details, then a share button invites the donor to spread the word.

Send it right after the payment clears. Check your local rules for what a tax receipt must show and add any missing line to the note. For monthly gifts, change the summary heading to the month.

Use it in your email tool

  1. Click Copy HTML, or download the .html file.
  2. In Mailchimp, Brevo, HubSpot or Klaviyo, start a new email with the custom HTML or code editor and paste it in.
  3. Change the text, links and images. Map merge tags such as {{first_name}} and {{unsubscribe_url}} to the tags of your tool.
  4. Send a test to yourself on desktop and phone before you send it to your list.
