About this template

A thank you email for food banks, pantries and community kitchens to send between Christmas and New Year. It is short and personal on purpose. The opening is a wooden crate of broccoli, peppers and citrus, the kind of fresh food that left the warehouse this month, under a serif headline that simply says thank you.

A few lines from the director follow, written in the first person, and three line icons sum up what the season made possible, from family boxes to fresh produce and delivery runs, without big numbers. A split panel with glowing candle lights asks nothing more than to stay in touch over the new year, with one link to the volunteer calendar. The director signs off by name.

Deep pine green, cream and a soft gold make it festive without the usual red and white. Fraunces headings and Inter body text keep the letter warm and easy to read.

Edit the letter in your own words, change the three icons to what your team did this year, and send it before the year ends.

Use it in your email tool

  2. In Mailchimp, Brevo, HubSpot or Klaviyo, start a new email with the custom HTML or code editor and paste it in.
  3. Change the text, links and images. Map merge tags such as {{first_name}} and {{unsubscribe_url}} to the tags of your tool.
  4. Send a test to yourself on desktop and phone before you send it to your list.
