About this template

A notification for a community app when one member wants to connect with another. Trail clubs, running groups, hobby networks and local forums all send this kind of message, and it works best when the person asking is the center of the screen.

The spaced wordmark leads, then one line says who wants to connect. A round profile photo sits in the middle with the name and a short line about the person below it, so the reader can decide in a glance. A rounded accept button follows, with a quiet ignore link under it for people who want to say no without opening the app.

The bottom of the message holds a three column footer with a few words about the community, a postal address and the main links, then a short unsubscribe line.

The structure follows a designer template made for friend requests. Use a real member photo from your app, keep the name short, and match the button color to your brand.

Use it in your email tool

  1. Click Copy HTML, or download the .html file.
  2. In Mailchimp, Brevo, HubSpot or Klaviyo, start a new email with the custom HTML or code editor and paste it in.
  3. Change the text, links and images. Map merge tags such as {{first_name}} and {{unsubscribe_url}} to the tags of your tool.
  4. Send a test to yourself on desktop and phone before you send it to your list.
