About this template

A milestone email for a blogging, newsletter or publishing tool, sent after someone publishes their first story. It celebrates briefly, then gives three clear next steps.

A serif wordmark sits top left with a small Help link on the right. A centered serif headline and a one line greeting lead into a calm top down photo of a desk with a laptop, notebook and phone.

Under Suggestions for next steps, three numbered points explain how to get better recommendations, start a publication and use advanced blocks, each with one or two sentences and an optional link.

A rust red button opens the writer’s stories, and a help line closes the email. Swap the steps for the actions that most often turn new writers into regular ones.

Use it in your email tool

  1. Click Copy HTML, or download the .html file.
  2. In Mailchimp, Brevo, HubSpot or Klaviyo, start a new email with the custom HTML or code editor and paste it in.
  3. Change the text, links and images. Map merge tags such as {{first_name}} and {{unsubscribe_url}} to the tags of your tool.
  4. Send a test to yourself on desktop and phone before you send it to your list.
