About this template

When a flood hits, a charity has a few days to ask for help while people are still paying attention. This appeal opens on a red band with a short headline and the facts in two lines. Riverstead Relief is the sample charity.

Below the band, a photo shows a house ringed with sandbags as water sits against the walls. It shows the event from a distance, with no faces and no suffering on display. One paragraph says exactly what each gift pays for. Four amount buttons then go straight to the giving form with that amount filled in, and the director signs the note.

Only state things your charity can back up: replace the amounts, costs and fund goal with your own figures. Change the headline as the situation moves, and send an update later saying what the money did.

Use it in your email tool

  1. Click Copy HTML, or download the .html file.
  2. In Mailchimp, Brevo, HubSpot or Klaviyo, start a new email with the custom HTML or code editor and paste it in.
  3. Change the text, links and images. Map merge tags such as {{first_name}} and {{unsubscribe_url}} to the tags of your tool.
  4. Send a test to yourself on desktop and phone before you send it to your list.
