About this template

A year end fundraising email for a food charity, shelter or community kitchen. Instead of one long letter, it answers the question donors ask first: what does my money buy?

A centered headline opens the email. Three photo rows follow, and the photo swaps sides from row to row, so the eye walks down the page in a zigzag. Each row names one gift amount and one concrete thing it pays for: a pot of soup, a crate of vegetables, a full table for a Friday supper. A single button at the end takes the reader to the giving page.

Warm paper tones and a soft serif keep it human. Put in your real costs, keep each row to one or two lines, and send it in the last two weeks of December. All amounts here are samples for a fictional kitchen.

Use it in your email tool

  1. Click Copy HTML, or download the .html file.
  2. In Mailchimp, Brevo, HubSpot or Klaviyo, start a new email with the custom HTML or code editor and paste it in.
  3. Change the text, links and images. Map merge tags such as {{first_name}} and {{unsubscribe_url}} to the tags of your tool.
  4. Send a test to yourself on desktop and phone before you send it to your list.
