About this template

This is a first note from a small web studio to a local firm. It has no logo, no headline and no button, so it reads like something one person wrote to another. Tallgrass Studio is the sample sender here.

The note has three short paragraphs. The first says who is writing and why they are nearby. The second names one concrete problem found on the reader’s website. The third asks a question that can be answered with one word. A plain signature follows, then a muted postscript that lets the reader point you to the right person.

Replace the problem with something you truly saw on that company’s site, because a generic line is what gets a note like this deleted. Mail only people you may legally contact, and keep the footer with your address and the unsubscribe link.

Use it in your email tool

  1. Click Copy HTML, or download the .html file.
  2. In Mailchimp, Brevo, HubSpot or Klaviyo, start a new email with the custom HTML or code editor and paste it in.
  3. Change the text, links and images. Map merge tags such as {{first_name}} and {{unsubscribe_url}} to the tags of your tool.
  4. Send a test to yourself on desktop and phone before you send it to your list.
