About this template

A first email from a small agency to a business it would like to work with. It stays close to a typed letter: one opening paragraph, one small photo with a note on a past job, one question, and a name at the end.

The sample row does the persuading, so the rest can stay short. Name what the client needed and what you did, without promising numbers. The outline button is quiet on purpose, because a reply is just as welcome as a click.

Mail only people you may legally contact, and keep the footer with your address and the unsubscribe link. Change the sample for each industry you write to, and open with something specific about the reader.

Use it in your email tool

  1. Click Copy HTML, or download the .html file.
  2. In Mailchimp, Brevo, HubSpot or Klaviyo, start a new email with the custom HTML or code editor and paste it in.
  3. Change the text, links and images. Map merge tags such as {{first_name}} and {{unsubscribe_url}} to the tags of your tool.
  4. Send a test to yourself on desktop and phone before you send it to your list.
