About this template

Most replies to a cold email come from the follow-up, and the best follow-up looks like a simple reply. This one uses the same plain letter style as a first note. Rowanbeam is the sample sender, a small tool that cleans up shared calendars.

One short line opens it, and the earlier message appears below with a thin bar on its left, just as a reply would show it. A second short paragraph adds one new reason to answer. Two small buttons then make replying easy: yes, or not now. Both carry the same weight, because a clear no is useful too. A plain signature and the footer finish it.

Paste your real first message into the quoted part so the thread makes sense. Mail only people you may legally contact, and stop after this second note if there is no answer.

Use it in your email tool

  1. Click Copy HTML, or download the .html file.
  2. In Mailchimp, Brevo, HubSpot or Klaviyo, start a new email with the custom HTML or code editor and paste it in.
  3. Change the text, links and images. Map merge tags such as {{first_name}} and {{unsubscribe_url}} to the tags of your tool.
  4. Send a test to yourself on desktop and phone before you send it to your list.

Bumping this up in case it got buried last week. A one-word answer is fine.
